Blackboard
Blackboard is the current online learning management system used for online instructors to build and manage virtual classrooms. Instructors and students can access Blackboard sites anytime; anywhere from Internet Explorer and a 24/7 support center is available to assist with problems that may be encountered during off hours, weekends and holidays.
In an effort to streamline the process for accessing WebAdvisor, Blackboard, and JCC Student Email, we have revised the process students and faculty use to log into these services. You will use the same User ID and password for WebAdvisor, Blackboard, and JCC Student Email. Please follow the steps below to access these services.
- Determine your User ID. Each student, staff, and faculty member has a User ID that is unique. To determine your User ID, visit the What’s My User ID page.
- Determine your JCC Student (Colleague) ID. You can find your JCC ID on your Student ID Card, your class schedule sheet, payroll stub, etc., or if you are a Prospective Student, you can find the ID on your Welcome Letter.
- Set or reset you Password. Before you can access these services, you will need to set up your password. JCC staff will no longer be able to reset passwords for you. You will need to reset your password in the event you forget it. Visit the Set or Reset Password page. Keep your password safe and never share it with other students.
- Once you have set your password, you can log into WebAdvisor, Blackboard, and JCC Student Email using the same User ID and password.
Please contact the Instructional Technology and Distance Education Center at 919-464-2260 or distancelearning@mail.johnstoncc.edu if you have any questions or concerns.
Please note that access to pages in Blackboard is recorded and instructors can view these individual access statistics.
