Concealed Carry Courses
There are no fee exemptions allowed for self-supporting courses. The registration fee must be paid by all class participants. Registration fees vary depending upon cost of the course and minimum enrollment of students. No refunds are permitted for withdrawal from self-supporting courses unless the course is canceled by the College. Self-supporting courses are noted by (SS) beside the class title.
To register, complete the Continuing Education Registration Form (PDF format requires the FREE Adobe Acrobat Reader) and mail or fax to the Continuing Education Division along with appropriate registration fee(s) to the address listed at the top of the form.
Course Schedule
Concealed Carry Handgun Training (SS*)
This course will explain the aspects of the North Carolina Concealed Carry Handgun law as it applies to the rights of the citizen to carry a concealed handgun and to apply the fundamentals of safety and basic marksmanship. Participants will be required to take a shooting proficiency test. This class will give you the certification you need to obtain a concealed carry permit from your sheriff's office. Students will need to bring a handgun with belt and holster, hearing protection, shooting glasses and 100 rounds of ammunition. Students are required to wear closed toed shoes, and long pants are recommended. In addition, it is recommended to bring a hat/cap, water, sun block and bug spray. Students may want to bring a bag lunch since there is limited restaurant availability in the area. These classes are held at the Howell Woods Environmental Learning Center.
