EMT Basic for CCP Students

Program Description

Pre-hospital care providers are an invaluable link in the health care system. JCC EMS Education Program is designed to prepare students to enter the workforce by offering EMS credentialing courses and enhancement opportunities such as an Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Science.

Program Content

Courses in EMS Education provide the student an opportunity to acquire basic and advanced life support knowledge and skills by utilizing classroom instruction, practical laboratory sessions, hospital clinical experience, and field internships with emergency medical service agencies.

Employment Opportunities

Includes EMS providers, ambulance services, fire and rescue agencies, air medical services, specialty areas of hospitals and healthcare facilities, industry, educational institutions and government agencies.

All Continuing Education initial courses and the Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Science meet the requirements set forth by NC Office of EMS and National Standard Curriculum set forth by United States Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (US DOT NHTSA).

Additional Information

Upon successful completion of courses or course content in degree programs, students are eligible to seek specific credential from NC Office of Emergency Medical Services and National Registry.
