General Information
Johnston Community College has been awarding associate’s degrees, certificates, and diplomas for 40 years to students pursuing occupational, technical, and continuing education skills.
With a curriculum enrollment of nearly 6,000 students and continuing education enrollment of more than 11,000 students per year, JCC ranks 16th among the 58 colleges in the North Carolina Community College System.
JCC in Smithfield, North Carolina, is located thirty miles east of Raleigh near the junction of I-95 and US 70. The 175-acre main campus boasts state-of-the-art facilities, picturesque pines, colorful azaleas and scenic ponds and offers 57 occupational programs of study as well as numerous continuing education programs and community service activities.
JCC has campuses throughout the county, including the Cleveland Center, the Workforce Development Center in Clayton, and the Howell Woods Environmental Learning Center, a 2800-acre wildlife preserve and teaching facility. On the main campus in Smithfield, JCC is home to a 16-acre Arboretum and the 1000-seat Paul A. Johnston Auditorium attracting additional involvement on-campus by community members.
With over 650 full and part-time employees and a budget of over $38 million, JCC is one of the county's largest employers. During its 40-year history, JCC has maintained its small town values while progressively meeting the needs of one of the fastest growing counties in the state.

Visitor Information
The College’s primary Visitor Information office is located just inside the main doors of the Wilson Building. At this location, visitors, public guests, and students can pick up a campus map, class schedules, or other information materials, and be directed to specific buildings, room, and parking areas.
Visitors, please use the special Visitor Parking spaces in front of the Wilson Building in parking lot "A" that are specially set aside for use by visitors when seeking directions from the Information Office.
Parking
Traffic regulations of the State of North Carolina are applicable to all persons who drive a motor vehicle on the campus. Student parking is provided in designated areas of the campus. Reserved parking is provided in other designated areas for visitors, handicapped persons, faculty, and staff members.
Enforcement of traffic and parking regulations and penalties for violations are administered by the Business Office.
Parking Permits
All registered, curriculum students parking on campus must have a parking permit. Parking permits are available at the information desk in Wilson Building upon presentation of proof of ownership. Permits are included as part of the student activity fee and are valid until the end of the academic year.
Campus Map Locations
In addition to the Visitor Information office in the Wilson Building, you will find information stations which include campus maps throughout campus. These posts are conveniently positioned near the Elsee Building, Tart Building, Health Sciences/Smith Buildings and Britt/Transport Technology Buildings on campus as well as in front of the Wilson Building and adjacent to the Arts Building.
