Course Schedules

General Information

  • Preregistration is REQUIRED
  • Registration Fees are as follows and are NON-REFUNDABLE
    • $125 Basic Riders Course (BRC)
    • $75 Experienced Rider Course (ERC)
  • We are unable to hold spots in any particular class. For class selection, please indicate a first, second, third, and fourth choice. Use class numbers (#) for identification.
  • Class selection will be based on the order that completed application and registration fees are received. If multiple applications are received on the same day, the date of postmark will be used for class placement.
  • If you find that you are unable to attend your assigned class dates, we may be able to transfer you to the next available class in the current schedule. However, due to program constraints, you must notify the Community Development & Lifelong Learning office at least two weeks in advance so that we may have time to fill your class space. Requests for transfers less than two full weeks prior to the assigned class may not be honored.
  • Students who are unable to safely perform the riding activities required of the class may, at the discretion of the Rider Coaches, be asked to withdraw from the class.  Students are free to withdraw from the class at any time they feel uncomfortable to ride during the course.  In either case, registration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
  • Class time begins promptly at 6pm on Friday for the Basic Rider Course.
  • Classes are held rain or shine unless the college is officially closed due to inclement weather.
  • Visit www.msf-usa.org to access additional information or to review materials.
  • Directions to JCC.

To register:

  • Fill out the registration form* (PDF: 61KB/1 page) and return it with the non-refundable registration fee in the form of a check, money order, or valid credit or debit card.
  • Fill out the Concurrent Enrollment Form if you are a Johnston County high school student.
  • Faxed registrations are accepted with a valid credit or debit card only.  Fax to 919-209-2189 (credit or debit card only)
  • The registration fee for the BRC course is $125.00 per student, and the registration fee for the ERC course is $75.00 per student.

Since we can take only twelve (12) students per class and classes fill quickly, please indicate a first, second, third, and fourth choice for the class you would like to attend. We will try to honor your first request.

Classes are filled as registration fees and forms are received by the college based on the date of postmark on the envelope.

If we are unable to honor any choices, your check will be returned and will need to be resubmitted with a new registration form.

Mail the completed form along with the registration fee to:
