Small Business Center
Are you interested in starting a small business, but don't know where to begin? Are you ready to take your business to the next level, but aren't sure how?
The Small Business Center is located at the Johnston County Workforce Development Center in Clayton. The Center’s mission is to support the entrepreneur in starting a business and to provide assistance to business owners in being more successful. The Center does this by offering training, counseling and information services to the general public at no charge. The Small Business Center works with the local Chambers of Commerce, professional organizations and other governmental agencies to provide training at a low or at no cost to the general public. Counseling is by appointment and is provided at no charge.

The Small Business Center at Johnston Community College is funded through the North Carolina Community College System. It is one of the Small Business Center Network’s 58 centers throughout North Carolina that supports the development of new businesses and the growth of existing businesses by being a community based provider of training, counseling, and resource information.
The Small Business Center Network offers a variety of services that include:

- seminars and workshops
- counseling
- referrals
