Lawrence Capps"I’m proud to say JCC planted the seed to my success."Eight years ago, I decided to pursue my dreams of becoming a law enforcement officer and enrolled in the BLET program at Johnston Community College. The small size of the school, the quality instruction I received, and the friendships I made were just what I needed to help me become a successful sergeant with the Smithfield Police Department. JCC continues to play a big role in my career as a police officer. As a BLET and in-service training instructor at JCC, I share words of encouragement and motivation to my students in an effort to set a positive example of my department and this College. The BLET and in-service training programs continue to grow and offer top notch courses in state-of-the-art facilities. I’m proud to say JCC planted the seed to my success. That’s why it’s important that I give back to this program that has given me so much to me. I’m Lawrence Capps and I’m a 2001 graduate of Johnston Community College. |
