MyMaterials Initiative

Johnston Community College has conversed with students, parents, faculty and our educational partners about the rising cost of textbooks. It's a challenge. Fortunately, our rapidly changing learning environment allows us to consider new models of both instruction and course materials! 

As you may know, MyMaterials includes the digital version of a physical textbook. In many instances, MyMaterials will include additional educational resources such as workbooks, problem sets, tutorials, video, simulations and interactive software.

MyMaterials resources have many features that allow you to interact with your course content like never before. Standard features include highlighting, annotation, search functions and multimedia links. All MyMaterials resources will be easy to access through our Blackboard Learning Management System.

Our MyMaterials Initiative will assist Johnston Community College in transforming a student's educational experience for the digital age while also reducing the ever increasing costs of college textbooks.
