Beginner Horticulture

This course is designed for instruction in organic planting, growing, and harvesting of vegetables in a residential setting. The curriculum is designed to provide students with the foundational knowledge necessary for successful growing of organic, homegrown edibles.
Class objectives include:
- Site evaluation and garden set-up
- Building healthy soil
- Understanding the three distinct NC growing seasons
- Seed preservation, composting, and harvest recommendations
Class is held at the JCC Arboretum,
Tuesdays 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. and Fridays 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Print the Continuing Education Registration Form (PDF)
Complete ALL highlighted sections and submit with payment to the mailing address listed on the top of the registration form. Please note: This method will be slower, and your requested class may not be available when the form arrives.
