Cooking Classes - Coming Soon!

Participate in our fun cooking classes at JCC coming in Fall 2023!
Better Baker - One-day class on how to become a better baker by utilizing the best practices of
commercial kitchens. Students will learn how to use a scale, ingredient functions,
the importance of sticking to mixing methods, sanitation, the differences between
weight vs. volume recipes, and the importance of mixing methods.
Royal Icing Sugar Cookies!! - One-day class on how to make custom decorated Royal icing sugar cookies. Students
will learn how to prepare a creaming method sugar cookie dough and royal icing, and
how to decoratively finish their baked cookies! Students will also learn how to properly
setup and sanitize their workstations, and use a digital food scale for prepping their
formulas.
French Macarons - One-day class on how to make classic French Macarons! Students will learn how
to prepare french-method Macarons, in addition to two fillings (ganache and Swiss
buttercream). Students will also learn how to properly setup and sanitize their workstations,
and use a digital food scale for prepping their formulas.
6" Funfetti Birthday Cake - One-day class on how to make a 6" round, four-layer Funfetti Birthday Cake! Students
will learn how to prepare a modified creaming method of Vanilla cake, American Buttercream
& Italian Buttercream Frosting (demo only), and how to assemble their birthday cake.
Students will also learn how to properly setup and sanitize their workstations, and
use a digital food scale for prepping their formulas.
Tarts! - One-day class on how to make TWO finished tarts, a traditional short-crust tart
with pastry cream filling & fresh fruit garnish, and a Gluten Free coconut macaroon
tart shell with chocolate ganache filling and fresh berries. Students will also learn
how to properly setup and sanitize their workstations, and use a digital food scale
for prepping their formulas.
Petit Fours!! - Two-day class. French Macarons, Petit Gateau (actual stacked petit fours), coconut
macaroons, ladyfinger, etc....treats you might find on a tea party sweets tray.
