Effective Teacher Training for Substitute Teachers (12 Hours)

The Effective Teacher Training for Substitute Teachers (12 Hours) is designed to fulfill the requirement of the Johnston County Board of Education to be a Substitute Teacher within Johnston County Public Schools.

Would you like to be a substitute in the public schools, but you've never had training? This course provides training in presentation skills, learning expectations, monitoring student interactions, social interactions, and time management. Pre-registration seven days before the beginning of the class is required. Class is limited to 20 people.

*Johnston County Schools has approved on-line training. Students interested in substituting in other counties should inquire with LEAs (Local Education Agencies).

• Please note: Emailing the registration form is the quickest way to reserve a seat. Complete, print, scan and email the registration form to Maegan Williams mjwilliams2@johnstoncc.edu 

• To register online, simply click the WebAdvisor link at the top of this page.  Next, select the Continuing Education button, and then select "Register and Pay for Continuing Education Classes".

Please be advised that when registering via WebAdvisor, payment must be made using a credit card.

 • Include your personal email on the registration form. Instructions on how to log-in will be sent to the email address you provide a few days before the class is to begin.
