Academic Advising

Academic advising is one of the most essential components for success at Johnston Community College.

Our mission is to promote persistence, engagement, completion, and advancement through an inclusive and mutually constructed teaching and learning process centered on each individual student’s educational, career and life goals.

JCC uses a case management model which provides all students an assigned advisor or group of advisors who assist with the selection of courses, goal setting, programmatic questions, and ensures students are prepared to register for courses each semester.
