The Associate in Arts (AA) degree includes at least 60 credit hours of transfer courses
in reading, writing, math, computers, and communication. It’s a great starting point
for students planning to transfer to a four-year school.
You’ll take classes in English, humanities, social sciences, math, and science. These
courses meet general education requirements and help you explore your interests and
career goals.
JCC follows the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement, so if you complete your AA and meet transfer requirements, you can enter any UNC
system school as a junior. Your credits will transfer smoothly.
The AA degree builds strong thinking and communication skills that employers value.
It prepares you for entry-level jobs or to continue your education in fields like
business, design, education, or public service.
